Why a Waterfall? Just as every water droplet perpetually travels and transforms through the majestic water cycle, so do we! As teachers, we have a privileged moment with such droplets as they joyfully cascade through our classrooms; may we be among the “good spirits” they encounter on their dance which Goethe describes so well...
Behold this rocky spring,
bright with joy like a twinkling star; above the clouds its youth was nourished by good spirits ’tween the boulders in the bushes. Fresh as a youth it dances out of the cloud down to the marble rocks, cheering again to the sky… From Mahomet’s Song,
by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (See end of book for the complete poem) |
